Group Visits
The historic Rice Museum houses one of the world’s finest collections of rocks and minerals. With extensive galleries, touchable specimens, knowledgeable staff and volunteers, we create a layered encounter for visitors of all ages.
We offer both unguided group experiences and guided group tours.
The Museum has limited accessibility. There is no food on-site, however an uncovered outdoor picnic area is available.
Group leaders please read through our Group Policy before making a reservation. Please share our Museum Rules with attendees prior to arriving at the Museum.

Unguided Experience for 15 or Fewer People
Small groups of 15 people or less are welcome to visit the museum on a day and time of their choosing during regular public hours. Museum staff and volunteers are available throughout the facility to answer questions and highlight items of interest. While reservations can be made online, admission is paid in person at the museum gift store on the day of your visit.

Discounted admission rates are available for groups of 16 people or more.
$175 for 16-25 attendees (adults and children)

Guided Group Tour
$150 for 1-15 attendees (adults and children)
$200 for between 16-25 attendees (adults and children)
$350 for between 26-50 attendees (adults and children)Guided tour topics cover a range of subjects such as rock and mineral formation, fossilization, geologic time, and the history of the Museum. Group tours are available by pre-registration only, and no refunds are provided.

Free Tours & Unguided Experiences
A limited number of FREE guided tours and unguided experiences will be available May-November 2026!
Free guided tours accommodate up to 20 people on specific days at 11 AM.
Free unguided experiences allow 20 participants to explore the Museum at their own pace on designated days. Additionally, participants will have the flexibility to book at various times throughout these days.
Guided tours and unguided experiences include admission. Advanced registration is required for both. THANK YOU to our generous donors who made these possible.
Reservations for tours and unguided experiences will open up in April 2026.
